Wand Store Des Morris via Compfight

Hello everyone! This is a new series that I am creating called Magic Knowledge: [Insert topic here]. It basically talks about different parts of magic and all that. Let’s get started!

What is a magic wand

It is typically a wooden or another material rod-like object. It can be used to cast spells. There are many different designs with different materials, carvings, and lengths. The materials and styles depending on the universe and person.

What is a magic staff?

A magic staff is typically a wooden or another material rod-like object. The difference is that it can be used as a way to defend and attack without spells. This is because it is bigger and longer than a magic wand. Many rituals require staffs because they can help conduct larger amounts of spells.

Which should be used when?

Duels: Wands

Rituals: Staffs

Everyday spells: Wands

Bigger spells: Staffs

Wand Benefits

  • Wands are much lighter and more efficient than staffs
  • Able to carry easily
  • Everyday use
  • More personal

Staff Benefits

  • Staffs are much more powerful conductor
  • Offers defense without magic
  • Can lean on when needed
  • Doesn’t snap easily

Who uses what?

Usually, magic wands and staffs are used by anyone who can conduct magic from them, or through it.

Can non-magical beings use it?

Typically a magic source is needed to power it. The wand and staffs are usually there to help with bringing out the energy rather than it gives. It all depends on the user and material. So, typically no.

Designs

Designs depend on the person. Like in many series that has to do with magic, conductors have different designs depending on the wielder. For example, Ash (Original Character) may use a wooden wand with runes on it because he typically does a lot of healing. Or, it could depend on the personality. Ash uses a wooden wand with runes because he is more complex. It is different from person to person.

Why would a staff increase the magic power of a mage?

Thanks for reading! I hope you enjoyed this topic of magic. Please remember that this is more generalized rather than based on a series. See you next time! Bye!
